The curriculum focuses on acquiring in-depth insight in financial analyses and financing structures used in the port sector.

 

This Port Planning and Management Workshop has been created by PwC and facilitated by Port Finance International to provide participants with a thorough understanding of leading port industry practices in key practices and strategy in port management and planning, the development of port PPP business plans, the renegotiation of port concessions and developing dredging models.

The course provides participants with an understanding of critical topics:

  • Port PPP planning and development
  • Ports and logistic chains competitiveness
  • Business case analysis specifically related to traffic forecasts and business model
  • Dredging models
  • Renegotiation of port contracts

    Gustavo Anschutz, Port Division, PwC
    International Ports Senior expert with 28 years of experience in port planning and operations, structuring and traffic forecasts focused on the port sector. He has participated in more than 100 studies and port projects in both Latin America and Europe.
    Mr. Anschutz has extensive experience in the development of technical-economic evaluation of port projects, planning, design and port management. He has participated in port projects in more than 15 countries, including, Argentina, Spain, México, Brazil, Peru, Chile, Uruguay, amongst others.
    He has a Master Degree in International Port Management from the Polytechnic University of Cataluña, in Spain.

    Dr. Sere is Coordinator of PwC “Capital Projects & Infrastructure” Global Centre of Excellence for Latin America. Jorge has extensive experience in the provision of financial, contractual and strategic advice to public, private and multilateral entities, in relation to structuring of infrastructure projects (mainly ports, railways, etc.), including feasibility studies, planning, preparation of PPP agreements, renegotiation of concessions , fund raising, etc.

    Jorge has carried out a wide variety of consulting infrastructure assignments in more than 20 countries in Europe, Latin America, and other continents, including Argentina, Brazil, Bulgaria, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Jamaica, Honduras, Latvia, Mexico, Nicaragua, Peru, Russia, Tunisia, Uruguay and more
