A proposed new deep sea bulk facility costing between A$600m ($634.5m) and A$700m at Port Bonython in South Australia (SA) has been declared a Major Development, meaning that an environmental assessment process can now formally commence.

The Port of Tauranga in New Zealand reports that it is "on track" to complete the first stage of expanding the Tauranga Container Terminal by early 2013.
