The course will provide participants with an overview of full-cycle port investments in both public and private transactions, as well as the latest industry trends regarding strategy and sustainability.

On 13, 14 and 15 June, PFI and MTBS are organising a world-class knowledge-sharing course on port trends, finance and transactions.


The 3-day course will be given in Rotterdam, directly following the TOC Europe Conference, so you can combine networking and building your knowledge on your visit to Europe’s biggest port.


During the course, we will follow the following subjects:

 

  • Port Strategy and Industry Trends
  • Business Case Building in the Port Sector
  • Port Transactions (Public-Private Partnerships and M&A Deals)
  • Financing Port Investments
  • Green Ports: Sustainability Practices in the Port Sector


The course has a business-driven approach, highlighting both the public and private perspective of port strategy and transactions. The material will be illustrated by drawing from recent port and terminal cases and the extensive project experience of MTBS.

The Port Strategy, Finance and Transactions Course is developed as a tool for capacity building for different audiences, including :

 

  • Port authority and government employees and managers, particularly those working in the field of finance, strategy and transactions
  • Middle and upper management and executives from the private port sector

 

Prerequisites


For optimal results, a basic level of business experience is expected. The participants are required
to:

  • Speak English
  • Be familiar with accounting basics, such as Profit & Loss accounts and Balance Sheets


A maximum of 20 port and transport professional can participate.

The course will provide participants with an overview of full-cycle port investments in both public and private transactions, as well as the latest industry trends regarding strategy and sustainability. The course combines theoretical foundations with practical quantitative methods, and an overview of the best practices.

Each training day will run from 9am – 5pm. Plenty of time will be set aside throughout the training program to review the specific course aspects and reflect within the group.
