Five new yard gantries for Tincan Terminal

Tincan Terminal, the busiest container terminal in Lagos (Nigeria), has received five new rubber-tyred gantry (RTG) cranes.

Parent company Bolloré Africa Logistics explains that it has invested in the yard equipment to speed up container throughput and improve productivity at the terminal.

Bolloré also expects that the five RTGs, which arrived late June, will increase Tincan’s storage capacities.

The Lagos Port Authority awarded a 20-year concession for the container terminal at the port of Tincan to Bolloré Africa Logistics in June 2006. The French company says that it has since invested several million euros in infrastructure work and equipment.
