Kalmar electrifies Felixstowe RTGs

Kalmar today announced that it has gained a contract to convert four rubber-tyred gantry cranes (RTGs) to full electrification for Hutchison Ports UK (HPUK) at the Port of Felixstowe. It says that this is the first project of this kind in Western Europe.

The Port of Long Beach announced yesterday that it was investing $2 million to test a barge-mounted system to capture and treat ships’ smokestack emissions.
