Brisbane awards BMT WBM 6-year deal

Australian consultancy firm BMT WBM has secured a six-year contract to provide environmental monitoring services to the Port of Brisbane Pty Ltd (PBPL).

The deal, whose amount has not been disclosed, covers: sediment sampling and analysis; water quality; dredge turbidity; groundwater; mangrove health; seagrass health; and seawall flora and fauna.

BMT WBM announced last week that it had been awarded the contract after a tender process. “This is a fantastic achievement for the team and builds on the extensive amount of environmental work we have done previously for PBPL and more generally across the wider Moreton Bay region,” said managing director Tony McAlister.

The Port of Brisbane is situated at the mouth of the Brisbane River and on the western foreshore of Moreton Bay, Queensland. Handling over $50 billion in annual trade, it is Queensland’s largest general cargo port, and Australia’s fastest growing multi-cargo port.
