Request for Expression of Interest for Greenfield Dry Bulk Terminal in Takoradi - Ghana

The Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA) is inviting interested and eligible parties to submit an Expression of Interest for the Concession of the Dry Bulk Terminal in the port of Takoradi. The Concession provides the right and obligation to complete the Development, Operate and Transfer back the Dry Bulk Terminal.

GPHA started the Takoradi Port Expansion Program in 2014 which included the extension of the breakwater, the deepening of the access channel and port basin, and the construction of the infrastructure for the Dry Bulk Terminal with a depth at the quay of CD -16.0m. The new terminal will allow for capesize vessels to be handled in the port with modern loading/unloading systems, which is a substantial improvement over the current ‘double handling practices’ in the port. The terminal will handle the export of manganese and bauxite, and the import of clinker amongst others. Design capacity of the terminal is about 10 million tons.

The official announcement for the Request for Expression of Interest has been published on the Ghana Public Procurement Authority - http://www.ppaghana.org/eoidetail.asp?EOI_ID=1890. The Request for Expression of Interest can be requested via takoradidrybulk@mtbs.nl.
