Turkey: Mitsui wins order for Yildirim Group terminals

JAPANESE builder, MES, (Mitsui Engineering & Shipbuilding Co., Ltd.) has received an order for eight container handling cranes from Yildirim Group's subsidiary, Yilport, in Turkey.

The cranes - four each for Yilport’s Gemlik and Gebze terminals - can handle large size container carriers of twenty-three tiers and have been ordered to deal with the anticipated continuation of economic growth in Turkey.

Delivery to Gemlik Terminal, located 70km, South of Istanbul is  expected in February 2014 and delivery to its sister terminal, Gebze is to be delivered in August 2014.

Gemlik Terminal's expansion is  now under way and completion is expected January 2014, while the completion of the expansion of - Gebze Terminal located about 40km south east of Istanbul  is expected April 2014.

MES has previously delivered four container cranes and eighteen RTG cranes to Yilport.
