First Ever Service to Connect Port of Algeciras to Australia

A new weekly service operated by CMA CGM and Hapag Lloyd will be the first to connect the Port of Algeciras Bay with ports in Australia.

The service will begin on February 15, 2018.

Vessels will berth at the semi-automated terminal of Total Terminal Internacional Algeciras (TTI Algeciras).

It will also become the second regular containerized direct service to connect Australia with Spain.

The container vessel that will berth at the terminal will be the BUXCLIFF, which is operated by the French shipping company CMA CGM and has a capacity for 6,456 TEU.

Transit time for imports between the Australian Port of Sydney and the Spanish city of Algeciras will be around 45 days.

TTI Algeciras will also resume its direct connection with ports in India and Sri Lanka for Algeciras imports.

The rotation of the new service is as follows: Fremantle - Melbourne - Sydney - Adelaide - Singapore - Chennai - Colombo - Cochin - Suez - Damietta - Piraeus - Malta - Algeciras - London Gateway - Rotterdam - Hamburg - Le Havre - Fos-Sur-Mer - Genoa - Damietta - Suez - Pointe De Gallets (Reunion) - Fremantle.
