Shell Drives Digital Innovation At Singapore Port

The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) has agreed to cooperate on test-bedding digital technologies such as data exchange with a Shell company that supplies LNG.

Singapore-based Shell Eastern Trading has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the port at the Singapore Maritime Institute (SMI) Forum.

Collaboration efforts are set to include developing innovative solutions to reduce emissions at the Port of Singapore, involving automation and marine fuel.

Alongside this, developing electronic data exchanges among various stakeholders is expected to enhance safety, efficiency and security of maritime communication.

Coopperation will support study and development of digitalisation, including electronic data exchanges among various stakeholders, to enhance safety, efficiency and security of maritime communication.

It was signed at the Singapore Maritime Institute (SMI) Forum 2017, an annual event held to foster closer collaboration between industry, research institutions and solution providers.
