Old Doha Port Redevelopment project in Qatar awarded to the joint venture DEME-Jan De Nul Group

To comply with the growing cruise tourism industry, the Old Doha Port will be redeveloped. It will serve as a cruise terminal and will accommodate the largest cruise ships of the last generation.
The redevelopment program of approximately €100 million is implemented by the Ministry of Transport and Communication of the State of Qatar and will be executed by the joint venture DEME-Jan De Nul Group.

Dredging works will be executed for the realignment of the access channel and a new mooring dolphin structure will be constructed. The works will commence in 2018.

During the last decade, Jan De Nul Group has already executed several major projects in Qatar such as the dredging and reclamation for the new LNG Port at Ras Laffan and the Gabbro Berth Expansion at Mesaieed Port.
