Turkish holding Yildirim is selling a minority share (20-30%) in its port management subsidiary Yilport.

“We have started the process,” Nazli Uyanik Yildiz, Investment & Investor Relations manager at Yildirim Holding, told Port Finance International today. “We have mandated JP Morgan as our financial advisor.”

Proceeds will be used to support Yilport’s growth through new acquisitions and capacity expansions in the existing ports,” he added.

Yilport operates four terminals in Turkey – one in Gebze (its flagship port), two in Gemlik, and another one in Yarimca. It also holds a 50% stake in Malta Freeport. And in April, it acquired 80% of the shares in Gävle Container Terminal (GCT), in Sweden.
