Vadinar and Mumbai, 27 June 2016: The marine terminal of Vadinar Oil Terminal Ltd (VOTL), which is part of Essar Ports Ltd, has been the best performing terminal in the Kandla Port Trust (KPT) for two consecutive years. The terminal recently received a certificate of appreciation from KPT, which crossed 100 million tonnes of cargo throughput for the first time in FY 2015-16.

Jacques Vandermeiren (52) has been appointed CEO of Antwerp Port Authority as of 1 January 2017. He succeeds Eddy Bruyninckx who after 25 years at the head of the Port Authority is retiring on 31 December 2016. Until January 2015 Vandermeiren held the position of Chief Executive Officer of Elia, the listed company that operates the national electricity grid in Belgium. He can draw on extensive experience in the energy sector, which will stand him in good stead with the industrial operators in the port. He also has the necessary experience with complex stakeholder management and in dealing with a publicly-owned shareholder.

Forth Ports confirms that from next week (w/c 27 June), the company is ready to launch its weighing solution for export customers to determine the VGM (Verified Gross Mass) of containers arriving at its terminals in Tilbury and Grangemouth to ensure compliance with the updated provisions of SOLAS VI (Safety of Life at Sea)*.
